Dear friends,

It is hard to believe that ten years have passed since I first stood among you at St Peter and St Andrew’s. These have been years filled with God’s grace—years in which we walked together through moments of joy and sorrow, laughter and tears, ordinary days and extraordinary challenges. We have worshipped, prayed, served, and even endured Covid together. Through it all, God has been faithful.

Serving this parish has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I have loved you, shared in your lives, and learned so much through this community. You have shaped me deeply, and I will always carry you in my heart and prayers.

Next Sunday, Harvest Sunday, will be my final service here. It feels right to end on a day of thanksgiving, as we look back and give thanks for all that God has done in and through us. As I say farewell, I also look forward with hope, trusting that the God who has been faithful will continue to unfold His promises to this precious community.

Thank you for the love, grace, and partnership we have shared. You will always be family to me.

With love and gratitude,
Adel Shokralla

Our church goes green!

We all know that we need to take better care of the earth by increasingly using sustainable fuels.
The good news is that from 1st May both the Parish church and St. Luke church
will get all their heat and light from a sustainable source.
We will be burning no more fossil fuels.
Our electricity will not cost more and only by changing our supplier to Octopus Energy
our church will have “gone green,” without any additional expenditure.

Creator of our common home,
You fill the earth and sea and sky with life
Forgive us our neglect of your creation
The choking waste of our pollution
The damage done by careless habits
And our indifference to future generations.
Help us to amend our lives
To refuse more plastic if we can’t reuse it
To lift our voice for lasting change
And to live well and gently on the earth
To the glory of your Son, the Living Word
Through whom you made this fragile world.
Amen.
Rt Revd Steven Croft - Bishop of Oxford
