THY KINGDOM COME
‘praying that people you know might know Jesus’.
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place…
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit...
and that day about three thousand persons were added.
(Acts 2:1)
it is for great encouragement to our parish to join this global wave of prayer "THY KINGDOM COME". It is great to for our church community to be able to cover 24 hours of prayers. We hope and expecting during this time of prayer, eyes would open, hearts would soften and be wormed, habits would shift, faith would expand, love for each other and for the poor would increase, spiritual apatite and hunger for God and His kingdom would deepen and God's Kingdom would come in our the midst of individual lives, church community and the world around us.
prayer is the most central because it ushers us into a deep communion with our Father in heaven.
We all need to pray, as prayer fulfils a deep need within us, a need to live in relationship of love and trust with God.
John Wesley said “God does nothing but in answer to prayer”. nevertheless it is not easy for many of us to keep prayer as a holy habit in their life. The disciples asked Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1). It is liberating to all of us to see the disciples asking such request, and to realise that prayer involved a learning process. therefore we are set free to question, to experiment, even to fail, for we are in learning process. more we pray more we grew mature in our prayer life.
We offer this space here to share few ideas, hoping that it could be helpful during our time of prayer.

LORD’S PRAYER STATIONS
Here are some simple ideas of how to take the Lords's prayer as a pattern to pray through it.
1- The Father's Character
‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name’
An invitation to connect with God as the perfect father
Consider what it means to you for God to be the perfect Father. The Lord’s Prayer invites us to speak directly to God as Father, and we are invited to be a part of His family.
2- The Father's Kingdom
‘Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven’
An opportunity to reflect on what it means to acknowledge God as king.
Pray this line, acknowledging that God is king over the whole world, and asking him to be at work in your life, our parish and community and the world, and in any particular situations known to you.
3- The Father's Provision
‘Give us today our daily bread’
An opportunity to thank God for his provision
You might want to set at the table and to eat bread or biscuits. As you do so, think about the things that God has provided for you, and thank him for the things he has given you.
4- The Father's Forgiveness
‘Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us’
An invitation to accept God’s forgiveness
Here is a space where you can write your own ‘sorry’ prayers to God on a small piece of paper, before crumpling it in your hand and throwing it in the bin, to symbolise God getting rid of our sin when he forgives us. Also you might include writing our parish ‘sorry’, our community ‘’sorry’, and our nation ‘sorry’ and ask God forgiveness

An opportunity to reflect on God’s leading us through life
You might want to walk where you are and to think about what it means to allow God to order your steps,
leading you along the pathways you should follow, rather than those that are easy or most appealing.
6- The Father's Protection
'but deliver us from evil’
An opportunity to reflect on God’s mightiness and protection over you and your life
You might want to set covering yourself with a soft material, remembering who God is and the protection he has promised you. use this time to let go your worries and fears by allowing God's hand to take them.
‘For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever’
An invitation to accept Jesus as king
at the end of your prayer time, you might want to bow down or kneel, acknowledging these words in the Lord's prayer
and Jesus’ place as king in your own lives, in our church and the world.

I arise today through the strength of heaven...
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ

Praying for others
Praying for others to know Jesus is one of the most powerful things we can do; persistent prayer for others brings transformation to their lives. Choose five people you would regularly like to pray for. If you’re not sure who to pray for, ask God to guide you as you choose. Here are some easy ways to pray for those five people regularly. Choose the one that suits you best:
1. PIECE OF STRING
Take a piece of string or cord, and tie five knots in it to represent each of the five people you have committed to pray for. You could carry the knotted string in your pocket, tie it round your wrist or place it somewhere that you’ll see it regularly. Use the knots to remind you to pray for each person on your list of five.
2. SMALL STONES
Find five small stones (light coloured ones are best) and write the names onto the stones. Place them on your desk, bedside table or fireplace as a reminder to pray. Alternatively, you could place each stone in a different room of your home and pray for each person as you enter or leave the room.
3. PRAYER ALERTS
Add your list of five people to the alerts section of your phone and set reminders to pray for them. You could choose one name per day, or pray for all five across your day. Remember to set alerts for a suitable time where you can stop to pray for your list.
4. POST-IT NOTES
Use five post-it notes and write one name onto each. Stick them onto your mirror, above your bed or somewhere that you’ll see them regularly and will be reminded to pray.
